Why there are two sites

Estate planning is state law. Which statutes govern your will, your trust, your powers of attorney, and what happens to your property is determined by where you reside, not by where your attorney happens to sit. A plan drafted under the wrong state’s law is a plan with problems built in.

That is why we keep our Wisconsin and Minnesota practices separate and purpose-built. Each site, and each plan, is built entirely on its own state’s law: Wisconsin’s one-of-a-kind marital property system on this site, and Minnesota’s rules on our affiliated Minnesota practice. Wisconsin residents belong here. Minnesota residents belong there.
